Audio Book for WHEN MAIDENS MOURN

I've received the cover for the audio version of When Maidens Mourn. They weren't allowed to use the same image, so simply took the idea as an inspiration, which is nice since it gives a consistent look. The cover copy reads, "Tales of King Arthur and the Lady of Shalott provide inspiration for this latest gripping installment in the Sebastian St. Cyr mystery series, as the aristocratic sleuth and his fiercely independent bride, Hero Jarvis, investigate the murder of Gabrielle Tennyson at the site of a long vanished castle once known as Camelot."

Obviously audio books work to a much tighter production schedule than paper books. I've had the cover image and cover copy for the print version for months and months, but this was only finalized last week.

Cover looks pretty cool. Certainly looks quite similar to the print cover.

Hurray! That'll be a fun listen. I'll keep watch for it to appear in the audible.com catalog. OK, so a totally off the wall question. My friend and I were talking Masterpiece Classic, which led to Masterpiece Mystery. We were both saying what a terrific series Sebastian would be for the Mystery series. Don't suppose your agent is calling them to suggest? It would be so fabulous. I can see it now. Richard Armitage would be Sebastian. Hero would be Ann Hathaway (she can wear contacts) and Kat would be Alexis Bledel. (Not that I've thought about this at all ;-) I think you should start working on this. Ahhh...my favorite characters come to life. What fun it would be. Counting the days for maidens. Sabena

Charles, it is cool, isn't it?

Sabena, I must admit that seeing Sebastian on Masterpiece Mysteries is one of my fantasies! Nothing helps sales like TV or movies. Unfortunately, given the cost of period pieces, I doubt it'll ever happen. I did have a nibble for a movie of Why Mermaids Sing, but that went nowhere.

Oh, how disappointing on the Maidens movie. It would have been terrific. OK, so another question. Who do you see playing your lead characters in your mind. It would be interesting for us readers to see how they compare to our visions of them. Sabena

Sabena, I know a lot of authors like to select actors for their characters and hold those images and mannerisms in their mind when they write, but I've never done that. As a result, I suspect there isn't an active alive that i'd feel was quite right for Sebastian, Kat, Hero, et al. If they ever DO make a movie out of one of these books, I'll probably grumble about their choice (all the way to the bank!).

Well, just so you know, I did send feedback into Masterpiece recommending your series for Masterpiece Mystery. Let's hope it actually makes it into someone's email and through some fluke puts a bug into their ear. In the intermin, I will content myself with reading and listening to your delightful characters.
