Peaceful Coexistence

This cat and chicken live around the corner from my mom's old house. The owner is a little old man; sometimes the three of them will sit out on the porch together, but usually it's just the cat and the chicken. We've been trying to get a picture of them for ages, and Steve finally managed it this past weekend.

Talk about unlikely friends....

my father was hatching some chicks & so the night was putting them in a box under a special light for them to stay warm. The next morning checking on them he got a big surprise seeing our cat in the middle of the box and all the chicks sleeping (cuddling) around her^^ (she was a cat loving mothering :))

that's so a cute pic!! Nature gives us some beautiful things sometimes!!

The picture is post-card perfect. My daughter wants to know if it is ok to print it. She want to put it on her wall -- with credit for the auteur of course.

LOL. That's pretty funny. If only the Dems and Republicans could get along so well.

le fleur, we'll keep trying for the three. Unfortunately, it's on a twisty narrow street with no parking, so it's not easy.

nana, that's hilarious. Too bad he didn't have a smart phone handy.

Paz, of course your daughter is free to print it! Although since it was taken with a cell phone, I'm not sure how good the quality will be. If it doesn't print well, I'd be happy to email it to you, to see if that prints better.

Charles, my thoughts exactly...

I know a cat who counts among his friends a family of hedgehogs, a couple of ducks and a black bird.

My own heartless killers, however...

Steve, I have a "chicken cat" that gets him some cut-up roast chicken every night. Because we're vegetarians, we buy it just for him. (Sad, I know. Blame my mom; it's her old cat.)

grobanmelody, the next one is scheduled for release next March. I just finished the copyedits tonight.

The only thing about having them so far apart is it makes it easier for me to forget some of the little details so whenever it all ends for good I would like to read them again from the beginning.

I agree with grobanmelody. I want to sit down one day and read them all in a row when the series is over. (maybe in more than a day!)
