Still Alive

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm still here and still writing furiously, with just a few occasional breaks to paint my spare bedroom (which used to be my mother's room, and is being transformed from her favorite color blue to a sunny yellow).

I've discovered that painting (as in walls, not pictures) is for me a form of meditation. Gardening has the same effect. I focus completely on what I am doing, which means I am "in the moment." But because neither activity is mentally challenging, they're both great ways to still the chatter in my mind and free my subconscious for creativity.

I also thought I'd show you this, which arrived last Friday, hot off the press...

(Incidentally, the curious cat at the top is Thomasina, peering out of Huckleberry's barrel. Her left ear was lopped when she was feral, to show that she'd been fixed.)

Oh come on - now you are just teasing us with the book that we still can't get. Not nice!! Cannot wait until we can get our hands on another installment of Sebastian. It is hard to believe you are on the next one already. In anticipation, do you know #7 will be out? Love the tabby cat, by the way. Sabena

I am afraid I too feel taunted... Where is a Replicator a la Star Trek when you need one? ("Tea, Earl Grey, Hot, with a side of C.S. Harris, Shadows, Hard Cover") ;-)

Thomasina is gorgeous! As is the book! And hardcover! All the best of the release, the writing and the painting! I'm attempting to stain the fence...it's going v e r y slowly :) It's a very big fence!

Steve, I expected the actual cover to be a more vibrant blue, but it's still striking, I think.

Sabena, and here I thought would be encouraging for people to see the book is real, that it IS coming! As for #7, I think it's March 2012, but I'm not certain.

Pax Deux, I want one of those, too. Time to get up and go make my tea the old fashioned way.

Orannia, she is a beautiful cat. She has the most gorgeous markings and the sweetest little face.

Beautiful blended image cover. Seems like forever since I held a new Sebastian book in my hands.

Thomasina is indeed gorgeous. Such beautiful eyes.

Maybe you should put a countdown calendar on your website, like an Advent calendar for Sebastian fans of any religion. Once "Where Shadows Dance" is on bookshelves, you can then count down till #7 arrives. I for one can't wait.

Charles, I was a bit disappointed as the color blue isn't as striking in the actual paper copy as it was on my computer screen, but there is much I like in it.

Barbara, it is coming!

Firefly, new/old home? That sounds interesting.

Lainey, Thomasina's gorgeous eyes are the reason she's still alive, because she had such a taking little face they didn't have the heart to put her down even tho she was so very skittish when trapped.

Susan, now that's an idea...

le fleur, thank you!
