Happy Halloween!

The pumpkin was carved by my younger daughter when she was home this past weekend.

And here is my older daughter's rescue dog, Bella, dressed up for Halloween as a bumblebee.

Did you know you can have your vet test your dog's DNA to see its heritage? Turns out Bella is half boxer, half bulldog. And all sweetheart.

we don't get trick or treaters much out where we live. WE eat all the candy ourselves.

Before I even read Bella's DNA profile I could see the Boxer in her. We had a Boxer and I absolutely adore the breed. They are so loyal and so patient and their mannerisms are so amusing. Check out youtube videos of the breed and you'll see what I mean. Both you and Bella are lucky! The pumpkin is beautiful, very artful.

Belated happy Halloween...spent it a plane with a very disappointed daughter. Love the costume and fascinated about the DNA.

Charles, unfortunately, I ate far too much of OUR candy, too. Bleh.

Barbara, we were pretty sure she had boxer in her, but it was the other half I was worried about. She was so emaciated and mangy when my daughter found her that she looked like she might be half pitbull. So it was a huge relief to find that the other half was bulldog. Now that she's filled out, we can really see the bulldog in her. I've never had a boxer, but she truly is an adorable dog. I'd show a picture of what she looked like when my daughter found her, but it is too hideous.

Liz, Oh, dear. Hope things are better now.
