Bugsy. Again.

Bugsy's back, and all grown up now. Unfortunately, the parents of his little owner have decided they don't want him any more, so they gave him the boot.

He knew right where to come.

I've sent emails to two Louisiana no-kill rescue groups, which of course are all full. But both have promised to put him at the top of their waiting list, so I am hopeful. I'd be more hopeful if I didn't still have this little cutie (now four months old and bad, bad, BAD).

Can I just say, I really didn't need a rabbit?

Like I said...animals know about the Harris household. Have you named the kitten yet? You're stuck with him so you might as well. Who can resist that little face?

Hmm ... And here I am, thinking of heraldry and such things, things that use animal figures to symbolize qualities associated with a group of people. It might take a stretch of the imagination, but your cats could be lions (Plantagenents, anyone?) Bugsy, now - well, the Rabbit is considered mischievous. I know it's a bit of a headache, but it sounds like a bit of fun, too. Take Care.

c- maybe just open your own no kill shelter. there could be a tax right off.

when i was a kid we once had at the same time, tropical fish, a couple of cats, a parakeet, 2 rabbits and i'm pretty sure my brother had a gerbil that mother didn't know about in his room. we were not allowed to have a dog (mom had issues) so we decided to have everything else. we thought the rabbits were both female - they weren't so at some point we had many more. that didn't last long - mom only had so much patience.

but i still say keep the cat - he looks like trouble but soooo cute.
best, Ali

We've got a rabbit much like him that visits our yard.

Lynne, I named him Indie, as in Indiana Jones. I actually named him when he was still outside, swinging from trees and charging fearlessly around like, well, Indiana Jones.

Barbara, I've managed to contact two rabbit rescue outfits (I never knew such things existed), and while both are full they have put him at the top of their waiting list.

Ali, I was thinking that myself! And your mother sounds like she had a LOT of patience--although we all have limits.

Charles, if only he were accustomed to living in the wild, I wouldn't worry about him so much. We get a lot of hawks around here, and he hasn't a clue he's supposed to hide.

Oh dear, lol, something tells me you are fighting a losing battle with seemingly every semi-domestic animal within a 40 mile radius.

And on that note, I saw this today on the internet and thought you might find it useful. Or at least your cats might. *wink*

I had to laugh when I read the bad..bad..bad kitty comment. I currently own an orange tom and he has the most perverse personalities! Sweet at pie at times, but only on his terms. He keeps me on my toes, which I kinda like!

I second the no kill shelter license solution. If you can't fight them, have them join you?

Indiana Jones works for me - Indie it is. I would find it hard to resist that little face.
And Ali - the story of all those pets and your poor mom just cracked me up. Great story.

Your rabbit looks very pretty but it reminds me of a rabbit that got foisted on my husband Steve by one of his relatives. I have to admit I found it such a drag, as I'm not really an animal person but I was sad when the poor thing suffered a stroke and we had to have it put down. You are such a kind person when it comes to animals in need of help, you make me feel guilty!

Wow, you really are on an animal notice board somewhere. How does Bugsy get along with your cats? I thought cats killed rabbits, so I have been concerned about him.

Indie looks so cute. How can he be bad with that wide eyed, innocent little face?

Veronica, yes, I saw that. Unfortunately it'd be too far away as far as Angel is concerned!

Anon, yes, I tell him I should have named him Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Paz, I want OUT of this business!

Susan, your husband was very kind to take in that rabbit. I'm still hoping to get a rescue group to come take him.

Suzanne, all my cats are indoor cats, and the rabbit is currently simply eating his way through my garden. I have no place to keep him and neither the time or the energy to clean a rabbit hutch, even if I did have one. The litter boxes are enough!
