Marmalades Update

From left to right: Peanut, Whiskies, and Roscoe

Our rescue kittens are ten months old now. We found homes for the mama and Peaches, but Roscoe, Whiskies, and Peanut are still with us, and I suspect always will be.

Peanut, the runt of the litter, still has some health problems but is slowly improving. Roscoe is a handful, and Whiskies likes to sleep a lot. Life is hard when you're a cat.

They are freaking adorable. One of my cats is a feral rescue (someone dumped him at the historic site I worked at), and it took him some time to recover. He's doing fine now, has some lingering issues (I suspect he always will have them), but he's doing smashingly well. I hope Peanut follows the same path and enjoys a long, lazy cat life with his sibs.

Marmalade cats!
So very beautiful!!!

But, you know what they say, (the proverbial THEY) one never owns ones cat, the cat owns you and, looks down on you for doing so. My cat is certainly very condescending indeed!
Still they are such beautiful creatures, one cannot help but love them!!

Steve, they definitely have the cute act down pat.

Lainey, I miss having a dog myself, but I already have too many cats!

Charls, Whiskies was well named.

Orannia, I suspect these are the most photographed kittens ever born.

Jessica, hope your rescue baby keeps improving. At one point the vet feared Peanut had FIP, but thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case.

Firefly, the cats definitely rule these roosts (at the moment our ten cats are divided between 2 households). The problem is, Steve, my mom, both my daughters, and I have all rescued cats, and they do add up!

My family is such a cat family as well. Only have two of them right now - both of whom we rescued over 16 years ago. They are old, cantankerous and are princesses to the max and are loved to death. To have 10 of them - that is brave!!! Sabena

FIP is scary -- Smudge (my rescue) had a scare with that as well, but thankfully nothing. It's been almost two years since I got him, and it took at least 6 months and mucho vet visits, but he's great now.

I'm glad yours is thriving as well. It's great to watch that happen.

As a cat lover, I have to say your photos were truly endearing!

Sabena, I think ten is insane. I keep saying, how are we going to evacuate for the next hurricane?

Rick, they do bring us a lot of joy and laughs.

Yes, 10 cats are a tad over the top however, when a cat or, rather in your case, cats, enter into ones life, one really does not have a lot of say in the matter...... I have seen stern, rather stuffy individuals melt at the sight of a ball of fur. (Claws & all)
