Down But Not Out

I took these snapshots of my tree (yes, you're right; it is grossly overladen!) with the intention of posting them on Christmas Eve, but a nasty stomach bug had other ideas. I don't seem to be having good luck with holidays this year. Anyway, here they are, albeit a bit late.

If there's a silver lining to spending Christmas week sick, it's that after the first few days I was able to focus enough to read. I plowed through a fascinating biography of Ben Franklin and another of his son, William (yes, it's research for the next St. Cyr mystery), two wonderful historical novels and another really awful one. More about that when I can think coherently.

In the meantime, I hope everyone is having a better holiday season than I am! Here's to a great new year for us all. Cheers!

Candy, I hope you are better soon. We had a lovely visit from my stepson and his two little ones on the 23rd and within a couple of days Scott and were both down and out with whatever the kids left behind -- there are a bunch of people who seem to have gotten sick over the holidays this year.

Wow, wondered where you were. Glad you are feeling a bit better. I'm not really "Down" with anything but I haven't been feeling my best.

And here's me with visions of sugarplums and visiting daughters and so forth. I thought you were just having too much fun to blog!

Feel better...

Sorry you were ill over Christmas. I too was down with a semi-flu bug, but with respiratory symptoms rather than abdominal. Feeling back to normal now.

Best wishes to you, Steve, and the girls for a Happy New Year!

Absolutely beautiful!

Sorry to hear you were ill. It's a Christmas tradition at our house for either my daughter or me to be sick at Christmas. Usually something dramatic involving high fevers, trips to the ER and projectile vomiting. This year it was my turn. :P

But hey, at least you got some good research in! :)

Hope you're feeling better and the New Year is a good one for you and your family.
