And So It Begins…
It’s Mardi Gras time again here in New Orleans. Time for the glint of sunlight on a soaring string of beads, the foot-tapping beat of the drums, the biggest of grins on the littlest of kids.
This is the Krewe of Driftwood, a local neighborhood parade that comes at the beginning of the season and is always a blast. The weather was glorious, the day grand.
But you know what really sucks?
Having a book due five days after Mardi Gras.

You can do it!!!
Btw, *loved* 'Serpents'-- plan to gush a little in a blog post next time I get one of those 'spare moments' I hear tell of...
I'm sort of glad to be out of town for Mardi Gras. I enjoyed it when Josh was young but I'm pretty much full of it by now.
Take some hours to get your taste of the Mardi Gras before returning to the task at hand.
i've never been to mardi gras, maybe some day....
Enjoyed seeing pictures of Mardi Gras. Last March my husband, 15 y.o. daughter, 17 folks from church, and I spent a week doing Katrina relief. It was my first time in New Orleans. My girlfriend went to a St. Patrick's Mardi Gras parade; she got everything but the corned beef!
In two weeks, I'm going back with 27 others to New Orleans. Unfortunately my husband, who is a high school counselor, and daughter can't join us this time because their spring break is in April I'm so excited to be going back to New Orleans!
Last weekend when we were headed to San Francisco to pick up my maiden aunt, I read What Angels Fear and Why Mermaids Sing. About a year ago, I started off with When Gods Die and then recently Where Serpents Sleep. Then I went back to pick up the first and third books. Enjoyed them all but I want to reread When Gods Die so I can see how characters from that book weave into later books.
I just gave What Angels fear to my aunt and she's reading When Gods Die. She'll probably finish Why Mermaids Sing before she leaves next week.
Thanks so much! Looking forward to your next book!
