New Contract!

**

The revisions for Where Shadows Dance landed in my editor’s inbox on Tuesday evening at 6:35pm New York time. The next day, I received a call from my agent saying, “They’re offering us a contract for two more books.”

At which point, I went, “Huh? But… But… I haven’t sent them a proposal yet!”

I’ve been in this business a while—when Babylon and Shadows come out I will have published sixteen books—but this is the first time anyone has offered me a contract without seeing at least a couple of chapters and a synopsis. Considering how close this series came to ending at Number Five, it's pretty amazing. In case you can’t tell, I’m just a tad excited about it.

At any rate, I can now announce that there will definitely be a Book Seven and a Book Eight in the Sebastian St. Cyr series.

  1. Oh, YAY! Congrats, Candy-- what a wonderful feeling that must be! (And EEP, nearly ending at Book Five? Wow, I suspect we would have been demanding you give us closure via the blog, at least! *g*)

And what an absolute treat to have the contract offered without even having submitted a proposal (no... no pressure there at ALL...)

So glad that Sebastian's adventures will be continuing.

  3. HOOORAY!! That's fabulous news. Congrats on making Sebastian such a byword in Romance that you got a contract on his name (and sales) alone.

  4. Hurrah!!! Congratulations!! And a happy dance from all of your (and Sebastian's) fans! (This is probably the best news I've heard all day, purely from a selfish point of view in that I really really really wanna read as much Sebastian as possible!)

  17. Congratulations. It must take some pressure off of you to have a contract already.

As you plot out the next two books, I'll put in a plug for more Sebastian & Kat. I know some like Hero, but I think she may need a beta hero.

    FĂ©licitations! Brava!

However...The series was about to end in number 5?!!! I am a a little traumatized to know this, even though it is no longer true.

And sorry I traumatized a few people with the revelation that Book Six almost didn't happen.

  24. Sebastain and Hero?? How about Hero and Gibson??!! Kat is the love of Sebastain's life! Please tell me they end up together, even if it takes to book 15 for it to happen.
